Midday: why less happens

5 minute read

In plain English

Volume typically falls in the middle of the session as institutional order flow slows.

Why it matters

Lower liquidity makes moves less reliable and ranges choppier. It is often the worst time to force a trade.

Example

A breakout on 20% of average volume at 12:30 frequently fades back within the hour.

Try this

Check the Focus Windows page and step away during the midday window for one week.

Common mistake

Trading out of boredom.

What this does not mean

Quiet does not mean safe.
