Fear of missing out

5 minute read

In plain English

FOMO is the urge to enter because something is moving without you. It peaks exactly when risk is highest.

Why it matters

The most expensive entries are usually the most emotionally comfortable ones.

Example

You watch a stock go from $2 to $3, then buy at $3.10 as it stalls.

Try this

When you feel urgency, set a five-minute timer before doing anything.

Common mistake

Confusing urgency with opportunity.

What this does not mean

Missing a move costs you nothing you ever had.
